Fed: National Textiles to dominate parliament

The National Textiles bailout package looks likely to continue to dog Prime Minister
JOHN HOWARD this week as Labor switches its attack on the government to the floor of parliament.

Opposition Leader KIM BEAZLEY is expected to lead the charge when parliament resumes
for the Autumn session on Tuesday.

Labor sources say questions remain about the government's $4 million rescue of the company.

The government has left the door open for future bailouts of workers in failed companies,
with Employment Minister PETER REITH saying they will be dealt with on a case-by-case
basis.

The opposition's also expected this week to step up its attack on anomalies in the
GST, concentrating on issues affecting battlers.
