RICHMOND, British Columbia -- Thanks to three teammates, Trevor Marsicano will leave his first Olympics with a medal.
Marsicano, of Ballston Spa, sat out the semifinals of speedskating's team pursuit, benching himself after a poor quarterfinal, and cheered as Chad Hedrick, Brian Hansen and Jonathan Kuck upset the top-ranked Dutch team Friday.
The U.S. faces Canada in Saturday's final, with the winner taking gold and the loser settling for silver.
The American finals team has yet to be announced, but Marsicano may well be on the bench again because the Hedrick-Hansen-Kuck combination meshed so well.
Marsicano still will receive a medal …
